    network activation of office 2010

    we are rolling out office 2010 ready for september, is there an easy command line that can activate at login and activate the product online.

    I have managed to get windows 7 to activate

    Its probably best to set up a KMS Server for this sort of roll-out.

    +1 on the KMS activation pretty straight forward to set up.

    if you havent got a KMS i think the Slmgr.vbs script will still activate keys not something i have tried mind

    KMS is the way, you just set it up on a server and the clients will activate themselves. Here is a guide

    if you have maks keys then use vamt 2.0 you can search network for pcs give it the key (if you diddnt in the transform) and proxy activate a bunch at once

    I am currently fighting with KMS...and loosing.

    My computers have run out of time to activate lol so im in a bit of a rush.

    VAMT picks pcs up from AD but then fails to do anything with them! ARGH

    40 odd, way over the 25 machine business. I think one issue may be i needed to update VAMT. Next issue is saying that it cant contact WMI on the remote client so currently playing with that issue.

    Do the clients have firewalls on? Sounds like they are blocking the WMI check from the server.

    you have opened up the ports on the kms server firewall havnt you i forgot that recently and wondered why nowt was activating

    Eugh, Ive set inbound rule, made sure the KMS knows it. DNS is there...only thing left to do is go check there isnt firewalls on the machines but there shouldn't be....doesnt mean there isnt....
