MICROSOFT POWERPOINT
I have recently encountered an issue when printing from Powerpoint. When I try to print the slides from Powerpoint the printer simply prints blank pages, although the print preview clearly shows the content on the slides. I have also sent a test page to the printer and this prints fine, as well as their being a good amount of ink.
I have researched this and there is several issues revolving Office and printing, however nothing specific to Powerpoint. Just wondered if anybody had experienced this or a similar problem? And any solutions to the problem?
Thanks in advance.

11th October 2011, 01:41 PM #2 Which version of Office are you using? I used to have some odd printing issues in 2003 but they went away after I upgraded to 2007. Have you tried printing a single slide from a brand new default presentation? Just tap some txt onto the first slide. It could be an issue with one particular file? If maybe it was created on a newer version?

All on Office 2007. I've tried printing a completed presentation and this printed all pages blank (e.g 6 slides; 6 blank pages). I then tried printing a single slide from a default presentation and also tried different print settings, as well as trying from different computers around the room. I also tried the room next to the room with the problem, which has the same model printer, and this prints the slides as normal.

11th October 2011, 02:05 PM #4 Have you tried printing to the printer next door? Or to a different model of printer (therefore with a different driver)? Got to say, I'm stumped on that one. Is it only happening on one machine or all in that room?

Printer next door (same model) works fine and prints the powerpoint as normal. I have tried printing to a different model printer and this also works fine. The problem is occuring only in the one room on (I assume) all of the machines. I have tried several different machines and each of them prints blank pages. Hmm.

11th October 2011, 02:29 PM #6 Just to clarify, you've printed from one of the machines that isn't working, through to the printer next door and this does work? Do you run a printer server or use any print management programs like PCounter? Just wondering if the driver is set wrong for that printer. Can you print OK from Word/Excel etc?

11th October 2011, 02:42 PM #7 Try updating the driver and the firmware of the printer itself.
Also, are the two printers connected the same - both using Ethernet or USB cables?

@themightymrp, yes ive printed from the machine that doesnt work to the printer next door and it prints ok. We run a printer server but have never come across a problem as strange as this. I will also look for the updated drivers to see if this is a possible solution.
