We moved from Office 97 to Office 2007 and will be moving to Office 2010 this summer.

The switch to 2007 was pretty straightforward and we didn't get any complaints staff and students picked it up pretty quickly, I would imagine it will be the same for our users going to 2010. If you are a SIMS user, Office 2010 now works fine (according to CAPITA) so I don't envisage you having any issues.

That's a bit of a half truth...exporting to Excel 2010 from Sims crashes 75% of the time and to word crashes 50% of the time in my experience.

I covered my back by saying according to CAPITA. )

I haven't fully tested it myself yet. Just insalled it on a test machine yesterday, so will have a play next week - with some big reports and SIMS profiles.

Another for Office 2010. Plan to upgrade to that in the summer from 2007.

I can't say I have any problems of that nature with Office 2010 and SIMS. I use it a lot and it seems to run fine.

Currently transitioning to 2010 with startup scripts, room by room. Save for a hugely annoying oversight where I didn't check if the En-UK proofing tools would install (so I deployed to 150 PCs without spellcheck!) it's been very easy. Still runs fine on our PCs with 512MB of RAM too.

2010, we did a 2007 last Easter and then 2010 last summer with the move to Win 7 and its been great didn't really tell anyone we were moving to 2010 either in-fact most people didn't notice much other than saying ooh Outlook and Publisher have the ribbon that Word does and you've made it say File instead of that circle! Shows how similar in look and feel they are

Very simmilar to our experience, some did not even realise it had changed till they were told.

I've got 2010 on my personal laptop and like that Outlook has got the ribbon like word and excel. Want to move to 2010 in the office.

We plan to move to Win 7 and office 2010 in summer moving from Win XP and Office 2003. I have some people using Office 2007 at the mo (they seem to like it) as it doesnt need a KMS server and i can't be bothered changing the MAK to a KMS in office 2010, but when its all rolled out, we shall be using office 2010 with KMS. On laptops (if people bring them in) i plan to use office 2010 with MAK Licenses, either that or ill use KMS and it will force them to bring the laptops i after 180 days :P.
I can just see a problem on the horizon once we have moved over to 2010 and the text books still use 2003. Oh well.. they will have to buy some new ones.

We have moved all of our admin machines over to Office 2010 from Office 2003 and we have no SIMS/ Office related issues.
