Skip Register page for all users

    Hi

I'm having a problem with office 2011 (mac). I've installed the software as localadmin but the problem is; every time i login as a new user it asks me for the registration details which i would like to be able to skip as this causes confusion during lessons.

    Any help would be great,

    Thanks.

This is actually something that I have done for our mac lab.

    1. Configure Microsoft Office the way that you would like it.
    2. Go to the Documents folder of the account and copy the folder ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/
    3. Navigate to /System/Library/User Template

    a. You will have to give yourself permission to view the folder
    b. Right-click>Get Info
    c. In the Sharing and Permissions pain click the +, select your localadmin and give yourself read/write privileges, click on the cog wheel and select Apply to enclosed items.
    4. Navigate to /System/Library/User Template/English.lproj/Documents/
    5. Copy the Microsoft User Data folder to this location
    6. Navigate to ~/Library/Preferences/
    a. Copy any .plist file that looks like com.microsoft.something.plist

    7. At this point you have two options,
    1. You can copy these files to the ".../Default User/English.lproj/Library/Prefences/" folder
    2. Or you can push these out using WGM
I would suggest using WGM as this allows you to easily update the files without having to do so on every machine.

The Default User folder is the folder that new accounts are created from. Any files in here will be copied into new user accounts as they are created. This process will only apply to accounts created after you put these files there.

I hope this helps you out.

Thanks, i managed to get it working through WGM thanks to your guide.

Now my next problem is that i would like the default save location to be the users Network home folder.

You can change the save location by editing the Documents section of the File Locations tab under preferences in word. But i do not know how i could get it to save to the users Network home folder.

    Any more great advice?

I know this is an old thread but I'm having the exact same problem with Office 2011 on the Macs. I've followed instructions given by jsimpson but I don't have a "Documents" folder in the location /System/Library/User Template/English.lproj/

I also can't find the Default User folder on the Mac. I'm using Mountain Lion 10.8.4 and any network user that logs in is getting the registration window pop up. Any ideas on how this can be resolved?
