Hi folks
As part of our change over to the new academy, the new Head would like Century Gothic to tbe the default font to be used in Ms Office, site wide.
Does anyone have any experience with doing this? something i thought would be straight forward is far from that as i can tell..
Were running xp clients on a server 2003 + 2008 domain using office 2007 + office 2010
thanks

23rd August 2010, 02:11 PM #2 Method A:
- Open Word, right-click on the Normal style in the ribbon and click Modify
- Set up the style how you want it, and select the New documents based on this template radio button
modstyle.png - Close Word.
- Copy the Normal.dotm file from your %AppData%\Microsoft\Templates and deliver this file to everybody else's %AppData% by logon script, Group Policy preferences, or however else you fancy.
You may need to test whether a Normal.dotm from Word 2007 plays nicely with Word 2010 (or vice versa).
Method B:
Tell the Head to stop being a control freak.
Method C:
Tell the Head to tell the staff to change it themselves, possibly combined with...
Method D:
Tell the Head it's not possible.

14th October 2011, 04:33 PM #6 Resurrecting this, however I've just found an alternative to the above.
In GPO, I specified everyone's "workgroup template" location as a folder on the network, then put my preferred normal.dotm template file in there (along with some others for letterhead, fax templates and so on) then deleted the normal.dotm from everyone's %AppData% folder. When next they opened Word, they got the new default template.
