    Publisher 2007 help needed

I'm using Publisher 2007 and want to shade a text box. I've set the fill to black and transparency to 40%. This looks ok on screen but when printed the text boxes are shaded with dots instead of a smooth gray.

    What am I missing?

What I'm missing is why you're doing grey by making black 40% transparent - why not use grey?

Ah okay. Do you have other printers you could try? I've seen that a couple of times, especially on cheaper printers.

My standard response to any Publisher printing issue is; save the file as a JPG or PNG (etc.) and print that.

    It solves soooo many issues.

Thanks, I didn't know Publisher could save as .jpg but it did the job a treat
