I got one and it looks nice. The office 2007 interface was good but this is better!

how did you get an invite? Through techet or such?

I tried out the leaked technical preview version when it was out a month or so ago. Upgrade from 2007 went fine, but no app would work properly. Clean install on a VM worked fine.

I personally really liked 2007 so 2010 is just a step up imo.

What build number is the one youve got incidentely, just so I can see if theres a newer one to try..

I've been using Office 2010 for a couple of days now and I like it alot. The only issue that I've experience is that Outlook shuts down occasionally on the calendar screen (I've got my calendar, 3 other peoples and a public calendar showing at the same time).

Office 2010 technical refresh comes in 2 versions the 32bit one and the 64bit one, and like the OS you can't upgrade the 32bit one to a 64bit one (so a clean install is needed if you want the 64bit one).

It's funny, alot of the software I use for work are pre-release:

    The OS: Win7 RC
    The Office: 2010 Technical Refresh
The Virtual machine manager: SCVMM 2008 R2 RC

has anyone managed to successfully upgrade from 2007 enterprise to the 2010 Tech Prev?

It screwed my install when I tried it. Fresh installs after uninstalling 2007 didnt work either, but fresh installs on fresh OS installs work fine.

must be something else on my xp install thats borking it. Even if i unistall 2007 completely, and try 2010, it still messes up with errors about not enough ram and hd

yeah maybe, I've only installed it on my Windows 7 test machine so far and that was pretty much a clean installation as I only re-did it the other week.
