Default Authenticate when opening attachments

We're having a problem at the moment with OWA 2003 prompting for credentials again when opening a Word attachment.

Everything I've read at the moment seems to be that it's designed that way, but it only seems to happen on PCs with IE7 on them.

Has anybody found a solution to this yet?

Check your security, also try IE 7 with the no add ons option.

Also check these sites out.

does it only do it on the full address for the server, or on the local address too..?

IE: http://mail.somewhere.com/owa
or
http://servername/owa

a difference in behaviour may suggest a credentials passing issue
