[MS Office - 2003] Typing Lag and slow working

Brand new laptop Core2 Duo 2Ghz 2Gb RAM, Vista Business, Office 2003

When working in Word or Publisher there is a very noticable lag when typing, changing pages, adding clipart or moving clipart. The text in the section vanishes then a short time later refreshes itself.

I have put all the latest updates on etc but the problem still remains and im 100% its not an underpowered laptop lol!

Anyone got any ideas please?

Gave up and installed 2007, everything ok now.
