Currently have a really annoying problem with Office 2007 installations. Let me explain the problem.
When a user presses F1, in any 2007 application, excel, word and so on. The menu loads. However when the user searches for text it doesn't populate any results, even if its a common query.
What makes this more bizarre, is the fact it works on my machine and not others. I have tried a office repair, reinstall, add-in installation but nothing fixes this problem.
Anyone else have any advice on where to be looking?
( Non-rangered machines, Mcafee ENT AV etc)
It sounds like some are trying to search for the information using online help and some are using the local help store. It is possible that your proxy setup is not being payed attention to by office or that a local firewall is preventing the internet traffic from getting through.
Your best option would be finding the setting to make it search locally in the ADM or ADMX group policy templates and forcing them all to search locally.
