It seems on the mac version of excel if you edit a cell and enter -1 for example then click into another cell it tries to be helpful and start making formula for you.
So anyway of turning this off as it makes entering learning marks more difficult...

9th May 2008, 11:51 AM #3 Ok digging far back into the dim and distant past here but I remember doing this myself on an older version.
I think there is an option in under preference->edit to turn this off. It was something like the extended formulas option, or something.
Sorry if this is no help but it was a long time ago and a different version.
