    Outlook losing settings

Does anyone know where Outlook stores it's user settings, or how I can retain them for users? Every time a user logs off and back on, Outlook loses information such as signature settings and additional mailboxes. We're using Exchange 2013 and Office 2013, workstations are Win7 Enterprise. The domain is server 2012, if that makes a difference to available GPO settings.
Staff have roaming profiles, students have no profiles, but redirected AppData. We see the same issue whether users use the same computer or move to another.

Outlook does not play nicely on shared drives... it is intended for local installation only. We dropped it when we moved from Office 2003

I suggested OWA, but was over ruled. As we have it, we need to make to make it work.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but unless you have users that stay on one machine only and install on the local machine then it won't work.

I stay on the same machine, it's not working for me. We link to the exchange mailbox, we don't link to pst files. Office is installed on the local machine. I'm not sure what you are saying the problem is?

Are you sure your AppData redirection is working? As the signatures are stored in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Signatures

Copy email signatures to another computer - Outlook

The signature itself moves from machine to machine - it's the settings to use the signature on new mails or replies that resets every log-on.

(No experience on doing this with Office 2013, but..)

I've seen similar where the Appdata\Local folder is lost (either by moving to another computer or by the cached profile being removed from the PC prior to the user logging back on)

Worth checking if you log on as a user, set it up etc, log off and then view the computer c:\users remotely to see if the user's cached profile is gone (in effect making it as though they'd moved to another computer/never logged on).

If you find the cached profile vanishes from c:\users that is possibly why you're seeing it happen even when you don't move machine. Try disabling a GPO that deletes cached profiles just on that PC temporarily to see if that improves things.

I vaguely recall we wrote a script in the end to copy Appdata\Local\whateverOutlook around too but that was a long time ago!

Hope it gives you a bit of a direction to look in.
