@jamesbmarshall will know.
When Word, Excel, Powerpoint for iPad was released we got it working with our dummy student account to see how it worked. That was months ago, now i've come back to it and it all seems to have changed. It says my Office 365 plan doesn't include editing when i go to activate. Which is confusing because i aint changed anything.
So i have gone into the Office 365 and checked what licences the user is allocated. I've noticed a new one called 'Office Online' under the A2 Student option. So ticked that & sharepoint. Office 365 ProPlus for Students is also ticked, so i should be able to Edit on the iPad?
The app is unlocked through Office 365 ProPlus, which is available through:
- Student Advantage
- Office 365 ProPlus for Students
- Office 365 ProPlus for Faculty
- Office 365 Plan A3 for Students (and Faculty)
- Office 365 Plan A4 for Students (and Faculty)
Or any of the other qualifying subscriptions outside of Office 365 Education.
So you can give this to your students through Student Advantage at no additional cost (as long as you cover 100% of your staff for Office somehow), and you can just add this as Office 365 ProPlus for Faculty for your staff. (Source)
I have mine activated when I have either the student advantage license or the faculty a3 license assigned to user.
Hmm, pressed Activate this morning and it worked, they must have been having issues again....
