    Central distribution lists in Outlook 2010

    What's the easiest way for me to set things up for a handful of Outlook 2010 users so they can access a set of centrally managed distribution lists...? Will I need Exchange Server, or can I just leverage Shared Contacts or something...?

    Exchange server or 0365. Really depends on what you have deployed already?

    Do you have any email service setup or being provided to you?

    The email service they're using is provided by the local council, with accounts hosted on their Exchange server(s).

    (...thing is we can't get at the council's Exchange Server to manage it, so I was wondering if we'd have to set up our own or if there was an easier way...)

    If they are providing you with a service, then they should do this,;it only takes a few minutes to setup a DL.

    ...but we want to be able to maintain these lists ourselves (without emailing a request through every time there's a change)...

    they can setup the dl so you can add/remove users to it.

    I assume they are all internal users?

    If they set it up correctly you will be able to do this.
