Does anyone know how to either get the main SIMS setup application SIMSInst.exe or the four individual installations SIMSInfrastructureSetup.exe, SIMSApplicationSetup.exe, SIMSAMPARKSetup.exe, SIMSManualSetup.exe to each install silently? I am having to respond to dialogues when deploying via MDT.
try this you need a working setup to nick ini files from though and put on server

isn't there now a SIMScentralserver.exe that copies something to the sims .net folder??
I'm seeing a weird issue with this script - I'm getting 'Access Denied' when trying to copy the files across. Is there anything we can do to force the copy of files over to the correct location?Quote:

Dont forget to map the correct drive to the sims share and then when the program is installed it unmaps the drive.
You need this because the computer does not normally have a mapped drive and your admin server will insist that you have the correct credentials to log on as the computers local system account will not authenticate as a user is not logged in.

Does anyone know how to run an elevated command file in MDT? This is the issue with the SIMS script above. The script is installing SIMS without any issues but when it comes to copying the files across I am getting 'Access Denied' messages.
I've entered the Administrator credentials into the task sequence but it isn't working. Not come across this issue before.
Am I running the script too soon (just after the Application install task)? Are my elevated privs wrong?

depends who ou are logged in as by default mdt logs in as local administrator so no uac issues if youve changed that to say dmmain admin then thats my guess. If its just the file copy do it as a startup script

Had the same thought as sted.
The install task (the bit that works) uses the credentials that you added to the script (domain admin) but the copy task will try to use the local administrator account which unless that password matches your domain administrators password will not work.
What you could do is try putting the .ini files into the "\admin-srv\SIMSroot$" (your s drive) and then change
copy "\\server\packages$\Sims\connectx86.ini" "c:\Program Files\sims\sims .net\connect.ini" /y
to
copy "s:\connectx86.ini" "c:\Program Files\sims\sims .net\connect.ini" /y
and the same with the rest.
This will then copy the ini files from the mapped s drive which is logged in.

I've just been looking to this also as its one of the last things that we dont deploy.
Dont think, although could be wrong. the script installs .net framework 4 like the installer does. it seems to run too quick.
You need to make sure you either run the command after it has installed the msi if you deploy .net 4 from the network useing GPO or after all the windows updates have been completed.
The next thing we have to deploy is sims discover.
