FOG files deleted
I have just built a new FOG server for my company but trying to reinstall the previous image would not work. We went back to the original server and found out that the image was still in the web GUI but not in the image folder. Also some of the folders were tar.gz and some were in their own directories in tar.gz compression folders.
Has anybody got an idea how to retrieve the original image.
FOG Server 0.32 Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS

Does previous image relate to the FOG server installation or a gathered image of a computer that you want to deploy from?

It sounds like it never actually captured the Image
Which school are you in in Horsham?
I'm just down the road (quite literally)

Hi glennda. I am not part of a school but I know about the site from The Weald. The image was previously deployed from the server but have lost the image from the server after problems with reuploading. The previous server was a Virtual PC but I have now created a physical machine to make it easier to maintain. I work for a company in Horsham but I have just completed an apprenticeship and know that FOG is widely used in schools.

Ah Right - If the image is lost from the server you will either need to re-upload the image or use some sort of disk recovery tool to see if you can get the file.

Re image directories - single partition / non resizable images are stored as .tar.gz in /images .
Multiple partition images get their own directory, also in /images .

thank you mats, I wasn't aware of that. I have not really used FOG or Ubuntu much before apart from deploying images.
