Dear Father, I have sinned....

and used a copy of Ghost to image a netbook :(

I was in a rush and Clonezilla just takes too long to make a complete drive backup to an external USB hard drive. :(

And its takes 5 goes of arranging which USB port to put the bootable drive into and which ones to stick the exteranl hard drive into (and at what point in the boot cycle to do it so it doesn't hang)

Ghost took about 30 mins to make the image and looks like it'll take 10 mins to deploy (I know Clonzilla deploys about the same speed - its the creation of it that takes time and a lot of faffing :( )

What is my penance going to be?

Is there a Penance great enough to receive the Holy Fathers forgiveness when using products produced by Norton? ;)

Strictly speaking the operating systems deployed with Ghost (if you do not have Ghost client licenses for them) should be erased.

Your penance is what ever you choose it to be.

Quite right - this was an emergency fix as my old USB hard drive with the Clonzilla image on it went belly-up last week and I needed to re-image one today (an NC10 that had a wieird fault - it just rang really really slowly as if the processor was walking at 100Mhz instead of running at1.6GHz - it was like the 6 million dollar man in slow motion sequences :) )

I'm going to rebuild my CloneZilla library again but this time I'm going to back up the images :)
