If you want to use WSUS with it then you will still need both of those options enabled. Otherwise it will skip the windows update stage completely

    Seperate thing.

The 'Rules' tab IS the customsettings.ini

At the lower right of this page is a link to open bootstrap.ini (which only has a few lines in it)

so for some reason after the machine has joined the domain, the administrator account wont log in.

During MDT it asked for Administrator password so i enter it

Then It logs in and does all the program in stalls. when i reboot and login with an admin account it works, but then i log off and try to log in with a local admin account
computername\Administrator and the password i entered in MDT it says incorrect password.

Why would you want the domain users to be administrators? You can either manually add the group "Domain Users" into the local group "Administrators" via the Local Users and Computers Snap-in for MMC, or you can add this sort of thing to a batch file that would be run during the MDT:

    Code:
net group %computername%\administrators "Domain users" /add
Experiment with that code as I may have got the syntax wrong. I know I have a script in VB that does it but it is at work and I'm not

we run into issue with prof that are not admins when logged in cannot install software, or get prompted for admin credentials. Theses machines are treated like personal computers which they do whatever they want to them

Another question, how can i get MDT to make a local admin profile called help desk?

Both local admin and a new account are probably easier done with gpp than mdt if domained

Good point, creating local groups and assigning users to groups can be done really easily via GPP. Didn't think about that. When I do deployments I don't make the PC's join the domain automatically, just in case the machine will be for other purposes. Manually adding them afterwards only takes seconds so its no chore
