SpecOps OS, WDS and / in a model folder
I'm using SpecOps Deploy OS to deploy my windows 7 images. This has been working perfectely, however a new batch of laptops has a model 'RV411/RV511/E3511/S3511' (taken from the machine through a WMI query)
When I try to create a model folder in Deploy OS (to insert drivers for that model of device), it fails (for the obvios reason that a folder cannot be created with a /).
How do I get around this? Can I manually create a folder with the exact folder name and will it work?
Excuse me if It's a stupid question - I am new to WDS and OS Deploy!

If you do your image first on the laptops, then use spec ops to capture it, then you will be good. Unfortunately a one size fits all won't work for deployment...I learnt that when doing our laptops and used our standard image, just wasn't working.
Spec ops can pull the image and set up the pre deployment stuff such as sysprep and the like with little work from you. I hope this helps.

I thought that may have been the answer - I just wanted to see if I could get the one image working for as many machines as possible - I have had some success with all of my older machines (which pick up all of their drivers etc from the standard image), it is just the newer models that have problems.
As far as I can tell, if the model numbers are exactly the same then you can inject missing drivers into the standard image (this seems to work for the odd driver on older machines).
I have put the question to their support desk anyway and I will see if they can come up with anything.
