I've figured out how to deploy the logistix post sp3 windows updates as part of an MDT2010 deployment if anyone else is interested.

beter way is to declare the wsus server in customsettings.ini then you can call the updates before and after the applciation installation ( always useful for making sure .net is installed!)

There is a setting in MDT's task sequences for applying WSUS patches pre & post application deployment
I'd need to check my server in the morning to get its exact location and settings..

Hmm.. I'm not doing Win7 yet, but I was vaguely planning to get one of those "go get all the MSUs" utils and throw them in MDT's Packages (it's raison d'etre isn't it)?
