Hi,
We currently have Ghost Soltuion Suite 2.5 which is soon to expire, and I can not see anyway to capture and deploy Windows 7. We missed Vista - So I only throughly know how to deploy XP. I have read some forums that say you can bodge it. But would I be better off looking at something that can do it properly.
So.... What would you lot recommend I do? SCCM, FOG or Bodge....
Thanks,
Michael

It has the awesome feature of being free, my favourite price!

2nd December 2009, 12:12 AM #4 For Windows 7 your best choice is MDT 2010 which can be downloaded for free from Microsoft's website. It uses Windows PE & ImageX to create the images (and you can use WDS to deploy them too).
This is much better than Ghost because you can make changes to the .wim images without having to recreate them from scratch each time. Windows 7 (and Vista images) are also hardware-independent, so you only need to create one image for all of your computers.
By the way, there is a free ~300 page eBook on the TechNet website that explains how to set it up and how it works. It can be downloaded using the following link...
