We have bought some HP Compaq dx2420's. They come with XP installed. We have formatted one of them and reloaded XP minus the recovery partition. We then have imaged them using the 'single partition' method and an updated kernel for the SATA support. However when we image back partimage prompts for <imagename>.001 about 50% through. This file does not exist.

23rd July 2009, 11:21 AM #2 I presume you've sysprepped the image? I would attempt to take a second image or failing this, extract the hard drive and install in a secondary system and create an image this way.
It has happened to me before (sods law) that the system I was taking an image from was faulty out of a typical batch of 30. Just my luck

23rd July 2009, 11:36 AM #3 Yes, we've syspreped the image. We've done the HP diagnostics on the machine and also used SEATools to test the hard drive. There were no problems. We originally also imaged the base HP OEM build that was on the PC. This also fails. We're going to try imaging to another machine now and see if that works.
