Just used fog for the first time, I am very impressed with the features! I took an image of a Dell Optiplex 330 and then I deployed it back and now Windows XP wont boot. It just has the usual XP loading screen and then reboots! Has anyone had this before or can anyone shed some light! Is this just a poor image!

15th April 2009, 11:22 AM #3 Yes FOG is a cracking bit of kit.
Just to check, you did sysprep the source machine before uploading the image?

15th April 2009, 11:40 AM #4 Yes I did but the upload of the image took a long time as it kept stopping and starting in the save partition to image file and in the Task Management it says the the task is queued?

15th April 2009, 11:58 AM #5 BSODs at boot usually imply dodgy storage drivers or b0rked system files. Perhaps when you uploaded the image, some network problems were experienced?
Are you deploying back to the SAME machine you took the image from - if it is simply the same model, there may be a BIOS setting that is different (SATA controller or power saving stuff).

Hmm that doesnt sound good, could be the image was corrupted during upload?
Also if it is still queued then is looks like FOG isn't aware that the process finished.
Perhaps clear the task, delete the image and try another upload.

15th April 2009, 12:11 PM #7 Yes but is it normal for when you upload to the server for the data copied to stop and start, by the way I am only testing this on an Celeron 2.8Ghz, 512MB RAM, 100MBPS NIC! Just incase this is part of the issue!

Can't remember of the top of my head but I think when I have uploaded an image it seems to go quite consistently.
