    Post 2012 R2 on NUC

I am trying to install windows 2012 r2 via MDT to NUC . However I am having problems with the network driver. Intel did not write support for windows server into the driver. I have found posts on the internet on how to modify the .inf file and to disable driver signing. But this is a manual process and defeats the object of mdt. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

One option would be to sign your drivers again after they have been modified. For Windows 7, you could create your own certificate relatively easily. However, the linked article mentions this process is different for Windows 8.1 (and 2012 R2) so you would need to do a bit more research.

Couldn't you add steps to your task sequence to disable/enable the driver integrity check via BCDEDIT and install the modified driver? i.e.

    • bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
    • bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON
    • Reboot
    • Install modified driver using pnputil or dpinst
    • bcdedit -set loadoptions ENABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
    • bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF
    • Reboot
