    Deploying SIMS via SCCM 2012?

Just trying to work out a way to deploy SIMS via SCCM. Has anyone got any experience with this at all?

As it stands I've currently got a nice batch file which when run calls the setup files on the SIMS Server and copies the connect.ini and sims.ini to the relevant locations on the computer it's run from. When I call this by hand it runs as expected and everyone is happy

    Now...

I've created a package in SCCM which will contains the batch file. I've deployed the package out to software center to test it installs. When I "install" the package the batch file runs however I'm given a load of "access denied" messages within the batch file when is running! Obviously whatever is invoking the batch file doesn't have the relevant permissions to access the setup files on the SIMS Server but does anyone have any idea of where I should be looking to try and fix the issue and how I can make sure it installs a-ok?

Hope someone can help as would like to get this sorted out tomorrow.

Have you checked that the SCCM network access account has rights to access your SIMS server?

Also any chance you could share your batch file etc?

I dont use a script, just install the individual programs, link the different application in the package. Works a treat.

Likewise - I point my package at the Sims setups folder as its source - and run the individual programs with the silent switches.

Do you only need the "SimsApplicationSetup.exe"? Can I just copy that to my source files share on the SCCM Server? Or does it need the entire setups folder to be referenced?

You will need to call a number of the SIMS setups files, so it was easier to reference the whole folder - plus saves copying stuff around.

I don't suppose you'd be kind enough to paste the command line you call to get it to install. I must be doing something stupid as it's not working for me!

I use a script to install via SCCM, used in conjunction with a rule that checks the version of pulsar.exe. Works really well for updates as I just change the version it's looking for
