    SYSPREP - Unattend.xml Issues

    All I want to do is skip rearm -

    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    - <unattend xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend">
    - <settings pass="generalize">
    - <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Security-SPP" processorArchitecture="amd64" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
      <SkipRearm>1</SkipRearm>
      </component>
      </settings>
      </unattend>
    This throws up these errors when running -

    unable to deserialize explicitly provided unattend file
    Then -

    sysprep error 0x0f0073
    (Rearm Failed)

    So, why would it not be processing the skip rearm?

    Even with skiprearm set I still had to reset the rearm count for this to work.

    First had to boot into WinRE - then run the following commands -
    reg load HKLM\MY_SYSTEM “d:\Windows\System32\config\system”
    reg delete HKLM\MY_SYSTEM\WPA /f
    reg unload HKLM\MY_SYSTEM
    Then Reboot and do these -

    Set these values -
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\Status\SysprepStat us\GeneralizationState\

    CleanupState:2
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\Status\SysprepStat us\GeneralizationState\

    GeneralizationState:7

    After done with the registry, do the following :

    Start -> Run : msdtc -uninstall (wait few seconds)
    Start -> Run : msdtc -install (wait few seconds)
    Restart the machine
    Check the registry for the right registry keys values
    sysprep with the new XML answerfile.
