Hi guys,
What do you currently use for imaging systems?
I now have responsibility for rather a large amount of desktops/laptops and most will need upgrading to W7 in the [very] near future.
Anything that incorporates UDMT would be great, otherwise I'd just be happy to get an idea of best practice. We currently use SCCM, but it takes an age.
Thanks in advance
Darren

26th October 2012, 04:54 PM #2 MDT for us - cheap and chearful and does the trick with plenty of options to customise.
We have a single base Windows 7 image for EVERY pc in the school, MDT holds onto drivers and aditional applications that we don't do through App-V (IWB software, Outlook 2007 and Sophos are the main ones).
Take about 30 minutes tops to go from 0 to 100.

26th October 2012, 04:59 PM #3 MDT rocks, especially when you use all the fancy DB extras. If you are already using SCCM then you are probably already using an abstracted version of MDT as it is a component of SCCM.

Take the bump up to MDT if you can - will be amazed at how much easier it is to deploy a room

26th October 2012, 05:22 PM #8 Yeah, we have a custom written system that integrates with SCCM (DCT)and flakes out every ten seconds requiring the services to be restarted. Unfortunately I don't have access to the server infrastructure, so I'm a bit limited to what I can do.... If I can take some of this info and show there's a better way, that may help some.

We've been using FOG for a few years now and it has worked great. The price is right and performance of imaging tasks is faster than we ever had with any other imaging solution.
