Right. Follow these steps:

1. On your Windows 7 computer ensure all programs are closed
2. Place a blank CD in your Windows 7 computers drive
3. Locate the Ubuntu ISO file on the Windows 7 computer
4. Double click this file. This will then start the Windows Disk Image Burner application
5. Click 'Burn'
6. Once finished (the disc will eject itself automatically) try and boot your new computer from it

NO!
You do not copy the ISO image to the disk. The ISO file is a 'disk' image i.e. a complete replica of a CD/DVD in a file format. This needs to be burnt in a very different manner to that of a data disc, which is what you have been trying to do so far. Follow the instructions I have posted above and you will be fine.

hey guys! coming in loud and clear from my new computer with ubuntu installed, now the problem im facing is that im not able to run anything i've downloaded, i get a little error page with some code coming up, cant run an exe, cant install windows RAR
