Bit odd you want to promote and start a forum about schools and the free exchange of ideas on one of if not the most successful school ICT forums around?

what are you hoping to achieve? what will make me move from edugeek to yours?

P.S i like cake! if that helps? :P

Edugeek is an excellent forum of which obviously I am a member. However, that does not mean people cannot create other areas and forum for people to use. Why pigeon hole everything in one place. Variety is good. I use lot's of different forums not just this one as diffrent people, different ideas. I am not trying to achieve anything (world domination maybe ) just exercising my right to do something new. Edugeek probably did the same all those years ago when it was first formed and nobody posted here.

Our LA ISP have deemed it not worthy to pass through their web filter:

I have control of the Filter at County for our school so can unblock items I wish. Is that facility not available in your area?

You are also forgetting Lancashire schools has\had their own technical forum started by me (the basis for the creation of Edugeek)back when I worked for Lancashire schools. Can anyone let me know if it is still there? I do know everyone came onto EG when we went live and left it a ghost town however.

I don't see anything wrong with running a local group as well. I do for Northants. If you already have a close-knit group of schools who share stuff then brilliant ... go for it ... but remember to also share in other places too ... EduGeek ... Twitter ... TeachMeets ... BETT ...
