Ubuntu netbook - No internet, help needed
Hi
I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to linux. I installed the latest version of Ubuntu Netbook Edition on a Samsung n150 and everything seemed to be working perfectly, except it cannot connect to the internet.
I thought at first it might be drivers but I get an IP address via DHCP and can log on to my router via a webpage. So the problem seems to be getting past the router. I have tried all the proxy settings I can find in Firefox and changed the DNS and a few other settings on the network card. I also briefly turned off the firewall on my router to see if it was blocking it.
Still no joy, using Firefox it says it cannot connect to webpage. Updates say they cannot connect either.
I have tried to update the firmware on my router but it seems Thomson have gone bust/been sold as the check for updates button goes no where and their website is no longer up.
Also my router worked with Xandros linux on my gf's eeePC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, it may be something obvious I am missing.
