Guide to joining a Windows Domain
Right, I can use Likewise to join a domain no problem, but I'd like to use Samba so I can mount windows server shares - so for example my N: drive, on windows I'd just map \\server\myDir and the jobs done.
So if it's samba, I figure Winbind is the answer. I have a few guides for doing this and indeed have done it in the past with no problems, but it all seems geared to servers with static ips. This is a client on dhcp - I need is as part of a proof that a *nix distro such as Ubuntu could be a viable alternative to the inaffordable (at least with our budget!) Windows 7.
It's early days so if no-one has a guide or some notes I can pinch, I'll just keep tinkering and maybe post my problems!
Thanks in advance :)
