Add user name to page with CUPS print server.
I have got a Fedora core 6 system running as a CUPS/SAMBA print server complete with a PDF creator. It successfully authenticates against the PDC with winbind. I have been asked if it is possible to print the username of the person who sent the print job, on the footer of each page.
Has anyone manged to do this yet? Any suggestions welcome.

You can do it with Pykota.

20th January 2009, 09:09 PM #3 I know this is an old thread, but I am looking in to using Pykota, but so far haven't found a way of using it to add a user name to the header/footer of each printed page.
Is this possible and, if so, are there any examples of how to do it?

20th January 2009, 09:57 PM #4 You need to use the Tea4CUPS stuff that comes with Pykota... a sort of print-pre-processing engine. I have never spent long enough on this to work it out but I believe it is pretty easy given limited knowledge of Python.
