I have kiosks in my school library running Ubuntu 10. These are locked down pretty hard and are set to auto-wipe the public user's home directory on logout. (This is the closest we could get to functionality of the Mac OS guest account, which was the behavior we were aiming for).
However, the users (being kids) rarely bother to log out, which raises privacy issues, and leaves things messy. Does anyone know how to auto-logout the user after xx minutes of idle time?
Yes, I have Googled high and low for a way to do this and found nothing of use. There are plenty of ways to put an idle time limit on terminal or shell sessions, but nothing for a GUI session that I've seen.
Thanks in advance -
