NetworkManager Error creating state directory
Hello,
I have recently been seeing an error when I restart the NetworkManager service, I see the following:
[root@xxxx ~]# service NetworkManager start
Setting network parameters... [ OK ]
Starting NetworkManager daemon:
** (NetworkManager:8983): WARNING **: State file /var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state parsing failed: (2) Error creating state directory /var/lib/NetworkManager: 13.
[ OK ]
Not sure why it can't create the NetworkManager directory. I don't see anything in /var/log/messages and don't know where else to look.
I tried to go ahead and create it manually and it still doesn't have permission:
Starting NetworkManager daemon:
** (NetworkManager:9531): WARNING **: State file /var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state parsing failed: (2) Failed to create file '/var/lib/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.state.JZR83U': Permission denied.
Anyone have any thoughts what could be causing this?
Thanks,
Nabeel

There's an upcoming Selinux patch for this....
Apparently there's an upcoming selinux patch required on Fedora11 for this warning.
Google for "Error creating state directory /var/lib/NetworkManager" for the links....
