I going to place this here as I have no idea where it should go.
Over the summer I have been forced to move from windows dhcp to linux dhcp (we have had a couple citrix suites installed).
This as left me with a problem I can't get RIS to work with the Linux dhcp, it worked at first with no problems, but as time has gone on less and less clients are getting an ip address from dhcp.
Has anyone got this working if so how?

Geoff, thanks for replying, I don't think this is what I'm looking for however. I want to retain Windows 2003 RIS and be able to use a linux dhcp server.

Have you authorised the DHCP server in Active Directory?

Re-read the section titled 'Windows RIS installation from the net' in the article I linked. Also this secondary article expands on that:
http://oss.netfarm.it/guides/ris-linux.php
Which is linked from the aforementioned section of the article.

He can't. AD doesn't understand linux dhcp servers.

You can, simple load the adminpak and run the DHCP
utility to authorize your server. DHCP doesn't need to be on an MS
server for this.
RIS can respond because the global catalog says it's authorised to
startnthe services.
I've been running RIS on a variety servers ISC DHCP and BIND
running on Linux and that's all I've ever had to do.

I tried this but when I add the linux dhcp server (using its ip address) it finds the server and adds it to the consul but it is not connected, if I click on the + i then get the egg timer then a white x on a red background.
Have I done something wrong?

No you have not really sorry my Mistake, what I should have said is have you authorised the RIS server in Active Directory again after the DHCP server change.
You may need to run the RIS installtion Services setup again, this will check all is ok.

I have re-run the RIS installtion Services setup and it reports that dhcp has been authorised but clients are still unable to pick up an ip to boot into RIS

Try stopping and restarting the RIS service. If this fails re-boot the server and if that fails I'am off to a place nice and warm.

mmm that warm place is really appealing as winter draws in (OZ)
.
I have uninstalled RIS today and then completly re-installed it, everything went fine, and I recieved no error and DHCP was authorised, but when I went to a client pc it still fails to get an ip address
