I want to move a virtualbox VM from an existing host to a new one.
I copied the .vdi file, and the .xml file for the machine, and edited the Virtualbox.xml on the new host and added the entries for these.
But when I try to start it it says Invalid Machine Name.
Is there another step I need to do?

11th October 2009, 04:14 PM #2 Hi Mate,
on the new virtual host, create a new vm and just use an existing harddrive...
that will work for you.
or/
You should be able to just import the existing VM once it is in the new dir.... (dont quote me on that though, i'm away from my computer so cant double check)
James.

If it's headless, try KC's instructions there.
