Ive heard a number of people who use linux for a number of operations, im looking for a linux distro which would help recover data from windows formated drives, also computer forensics. Can anybody recommend a distro or links to sites which can give me furthur advice.
Im new to linux!

www.remote-exploit.org . Backtrack has a very good suite of tools for helping you get into most stuff. Not sure it is forensics as such but all the tools are there to help you 'audit' everything from wireless encryption to your password hashes.
