Dansguardian stopping utube videos from working

I have just realised that it is Dansguardian blocking my utube video
I get an error message an error occured please try again later

if I turn Danguardian off utube videos work

Does anyone know how i can get utube videos to work wirh dansguardian switched on

Please if you have any instructions they need to be detailed and idiot proof as I'm learning squid and dansguardian very slowly

Can you post a log of an attempted access to a youtube video via dansguardian. The logs are probably living in /var/log/dansguardian

I know that this will be a silly question but why are you allowing youtube in a school some of the content is not acceptable and Lancsngfl block it as standard.

This internet access is for staff only and they find some of the videos very useful for teaching

They want it here as well but the needs and safety of the kids come first. What happens if a kid gets onto a staff account.

Your configuration is correct. As ricki says, it's lancsngfl blocking youtube.

We are not on ngfl we are an independant
so why does it work when dansguardian is stopped

Not here to argue about individual school policies
We are into enhancing education here not stopping it

Also, along with the above squid changes, you would need to make sure you whitelist the youtube.com domain normally and for file downloads and/or ensure you are not blocking the flv filetype or extension.

If a student was on a staff account, them accessing Youtube would be the least of your worries.

Youtube redirects you to a different url when you go to a video. That url must be the exceptionurllist file. Use an editor like pico and add the following line in the exceptionurllist file which is in the dansguardian folder.
youtube.com/videoplayback
