    I would of thought it was just a case of turning it on in the GUI?

    Yeah easy just configure the proxy

    Right click on the Icon goto prop's the HTTP bingo download all the updates

    :-)

    One thing, to prevent performance issues I would disable scanning of .jpg and .gif files.

    Its easy enough, you just have to make sure Dansguardian is running and it will then be able to start.

    Word of caution, if you're using it to scan emails it can fall over if an update fails and it then loses all email content for any emails it scans. As a rule I'd recommend disabling that aspect of it.
