    CUPS login

anyone know how to get into the cups admin page on localhost?

I can get to http://localhost:631 but am asked to authenticate on the admin page - any idea whats the default username/pasword. I tried all sorts of combinations.

I can turn off authentication in cups.conf by commenting out the relevent bits but don't see anything w.r.t what the password is??

Have you tried root and root's password?

sorry, i was being a muppet.

The default configuration requires that you use the root username and the corresponding password to authenticate the request.

    Re: CUPS login

remember aswell if you want to get to the cups admin page from other machines its usually restricted by default to only be accessable on localhost.

Mind you I find editing the configuration files easier in the long run once the print queues are setup.
