Rep Power: 13   |  Install KDE 4.1 in Ubuntu Install KDE 4.1 in Ubuntu/Kubuntu hardy You need to edit the /etc/apt/sources.list file sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list For Kubuntu Users use the following command sudo kate /etc/apt/sources.list add the following line deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu hardy main save and exit the file Update the source list using the following command sudo apt-get update For Ubuntu 8.04 users use the following command to install sudo apt-get install kubuntu-kde4-desktop For Kubuntu 8.04 users use the following command to install sudo apt-get dist-upgrade How to install KDE 4.1 in Ubuntu/kubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) -- Ubuntu Geek Last edited by somabc; 02-08-2008 at 12:42 AM.. |

Rep Power: 25  | Just installed it on my home pc (ubuntu 8.04) and it had a hissyfit with the XServer next boot up but now that's settled it seems very pretty. Unfortunately, comes across quite resource intensive or laggy which on my PC it really shouldn't. (X2 5000+, 2GB Memory & a 6600GT). Still, very pretty indeed. |
