    Module raid 456 error

Just gone to have a fiddle with our ubuntu box and found the error "module raid456 not found". Had a look around and there is one entry on the Ubuntu forum about a raid driver trying to start when raid isn't used but it is all beta patches or some such. Now as the box isn't hugely important, just a test box for playing with things we are thinking about implementing (but never do!), I was thinking it is easiest just to reinstall from a live CD & it would sort out the problem and leave the OS able to start without killing all the stuff we have put on?

Am I right? Or alternativley if anyone knows what the error is on about!

    Re: Module raid 456 error

Could be the raid kernel module not being loaded.

    Try modprobe raid456 as root.
