    software raid 5 for ubuntu

    Just haveing a little play at the moment i have got 1 disc with ubuntu on and 3 others software raid 3 I was wondering is there a way to use software raid to install ubuntu on and can you boot to it if so how. And if not what is the best way to do it.

    beware of EVMS on gutsty, I had a this problem and eventually got shot of it on my home machine:

    yep, I've been bitten by this too. It's only a problem on server upgrades though AFAIK.

    it is a server. And i think i have sorted it /boot raid 1 three disk and /swap and / in raid 5 it seems to work from what i have found out if anyone has any other idea's please say. I will be testing in full tonight.
