Internal web server for students
I'm attempting to create an internal Ubuntu web server for computing students to mess about uploading website projects to without having to upload to an external host.
I've installed Grizzly and LAMP and have got Apache working.
What i'd now like to do is create users and folders within the /var/www/ directory and jail users to only this area... this is where i'm having problems!
has anyone set this up on their sites?

Normally I would have a public_html folder in the students /home/<username>/ area, then have that as a vhost.
Otherwise I have set it up using ispconfig, there is a nice howto here: The Perfect Server - Ubuntu 12.10 (nginx, BIND, Dovecot, ISPConfig 3) | HowtoForge - Linux Howtos and Tutorials
