Ambitious, aren't they?
BT are going to love that.
 Not surprised - Labour always manage to screw something up... - though a 16.8Meg connection would be nice!
It just goes to show that you should never try and expand abbreviations - leave them vague and then no-one knows you don't know what it means.
To be fair, I've had people who really should know the difference between bits and bytes get them confused so there's little chance for non-techy people.
Wonder if the few gaps will include poor Ric who's connection isn't very good at his rural location :(
Ric is not in a rural location, he works in a posh suburb of Blackpool, and now has a very nice internet connection. It wasn't his fault BT put the fibre on the wrong side of a gas main and when it came time to come into the school couldn't!
Oh, you mean his home! Yeah, it's sticksville!
Edit: does make you think do they actually have a clue when they say half of the things they do - if you didn't see another C**k up by a labour minister see this post by mattx http://www.edugeek.net/forums/genera...-ip-stand.html
I have a 2 megabyte connection already. Woohooo
All in-line with digital economy bill, all the better to spy on you with.
You wouldn't be downloading anything on a slow connection, legal or not...
It's a trap!!!1
Do you think they'd manually trawl through logs in anycase?
Our new Prime Minister...
As for connection, our exchange down here in hastings is so balls I can only get 2mb, and thats at a horrificly unreliably state.
Makes working from home a lot of fun....
