Too stressed to read it
Am i the only one who very rarely gets stressed in the IT job then? I have to wait around for hours for somthing to do, and there is only me and all the PC's and Servers. The only thing in the last year that has stressed me out is those bloody KS3 Tests RM junk.
It's only the management here that make this job stressful........
I don't find it particularly stressful either, but I'm a pretty laid back person, or used to be.
At the end of the day, there's only so much you can do at once and I just explain to people with problems, that everyone's problem I get is urgent because of the nature of IT. It also tends to be pretty quiet here these days, which will only persevere as Year 11 leave today.
Got to admit, I just dont appear to suffer from work related stress. Essentially I do what I am supposed to do, and dont do or care about anything that isnt my responsibility. Which is exceptionally handy as it means that I just dont have anything to be stressed about :) besides...there is no sense in me getting stressed about things which I have no control over
Try teaching!!
I'm seriously unstressed since I metamorphosed into an NM!!
Chill!

I don't get paid enough to get stressed anymore. I work 8am to 4pm, then I go home and forget about the job. No working late, or evenings, or weekends.
It was different before I retired from working for IBM, at > 2x the salary. Then I was stressed.... really stressed!
Pfft, I don't generally get stressed, or don't feel like I do at work, but then occasionally I do need to cool off a little after work, start of the year, around christmas, these are the reeeeeally busy times, and sometimes leading upto exams.
As for working late, an occasional 6pm finish has not been unusual for me (until it got quiet).

I guess the magicians' assistants for knife throwing acts didn't repsond to this survey ;P
They we're 7th!
I'm not sure fear and stress can be compared in the same survey?
Chris
Depends on how much fear is being generated lol! Like the idea that RM wrote KS3 online testing lol ;)

I just called the the KS3 RM Junk because all the documentation had RM all over it.Quote:

The work doesn't stress me much - apart from when you get a big problem - its bl**dy stupid manglement that really gets me cross - I can't introduce a single procedure that isn't over-ridden or undermined by those "in charge" - which means in the end there are no procedures - which makes life a misery.
Roll on new job...
