Something about them not being large enough for the camera to 'see' or something. It's probably guff though.
You can set them off, sometimes.

There's a video on Youtube of a guy setting them off on a bike whilst wearing a paragliding motor! I suspect the legality of this may fall on the side of 'not'.

Nothing you do on a bike can affect your driving licence, but you could get done for 'cycling furiously'.

My grandfather was done for speeding once (many many moons ago) for speeding in a milk float!
I also went to school with two chaps who quite apart from dressing in waist coat and dickie bow, also rode a tandem. They were often stopped for speeding. All you could hear when they went past was this 'woom woom' and boy could they go!

It appears as though the courts have the power to disqualify you from driving a car (and send you to prison for 2 years) if you’re convicted of causing bodily harm by wanton or furious cycling or racing, or by wilful misconduct or wilful neglect on a bicycle. OAPA s35.

Note. I'm not a lawyer and I don't play one on TV, so YMMV. I would not recommend testing this!

It didn't mention anything about licence endorsements in that text, but again, I'm not a law guy.

AFAIK, the only thing that can affect your licence that doesn't actually involve a car is going equipped to steal.

I've done that before now. Got to around about 50 (I think it might have been 53 from memory) but yeah, decided brakes were a good idea at that point .. was such a rush though ..

For £4K5 you could get a trice which will do daft speeds just on leg power.

Urban myth i'm afraid. I've done it... tripped a 30mph camera locally. Its pretty steep down hill on a piece of road that used to be derestricted but after a few accidents they decided to drop the speedlimit to 30, I forgot, flew past it at nearly 40 and lo-and behold it went off. It was months ago and i've never heard anything more. I'm pretty quick, I got stopped for doing 26, slightly uphill on a wide cycleway and got told by the plod that i was travelling "Inadvisably quickly" given that it was dusk and raining!

I'm a bit of a purist... If you can't cycle, don't cycle, don't buy an electric bike!

Silly thing is to encourage cycling you want cyclist to be able to go a fast as possible so it is a time saver cycling. When cycling you have the changing aspect as well so you need to save time on route!!

This isn't the clip I saw about triggering the speed camera, but it'll do for now....
