From the BBC: BBC News - Intel buys RealNetworks' patents and video coding tech
Is this the final end for RealNetworks and RealPlayer then? 10 Years back they were the top dog for online streaming, but once Adobe and other companies started to invest in the development of these I guess their days were numbered.

30th January 2012, 03:40 PM #2 This has been in the works for a while now. Real player will still continue to be, however how long they develop it for I don't know!!!

The only thing I can think of is Knowledgebox; its irritating to have to wrestle with real player just for one application.

30th January 2012, 09:24 PM #4 I thought RealPlayer died a death, I had to update a whole computer room one by one bombarded with terrible adverts every....damned....time.....!!!!
Please please please please tell me they will kill it off and not try to kickstart the brand again!
