That figure is quite a bit higher than I expected TBH, but it does raise the question about whether they are actually using it as a smartphone or just a flashy phone with a decent screen and a bit of internet connectivity. I hammer my phone utilising almost all of its functions from email, navigation searching, net access and coming in almost last, making calls and texting. The article does make referance to Facebook being the most widely accessed site on smartphones, which many use as their prime method of social contact instead of texting and email, and interstingly that teenagers like Blackberry's. I wonder if this is down to the built in keyboard (easier for Facebook etc.) and the fact that RIM are pushing their handsets hard with some good deals to be had on both contracts and standalone devices?

Like Dos_Box, i use mine for emails, sat nav etc etc and think it's awesome.
Just goes to show what some good marketing can do!

You can do this with any smart phone - there's tonnes of apps that allow it (pingchat for example).

8th August 2011, 09:28 PM #6 Kids love BBs for BBM so our kids tell us at work as its all free unlike text and it doesn't use the Internet Allocations on most of the contracts as well thus it really is free unlike a lot of the others that use your inclusive 100mb Internet etc...
I'd be lost without my Smartphone its my lifeline, its email, facebook, twitter, internet, maps, online meeting people, and even Logmein! It also has the full keyboard which I love
I'd be lost without my best mate
