Yay, horrible things. Always hated them - although to be perfectly honest I'm not sure whether that's down to the kit itself (not a huge fan of the design) or the dreadful and nearly impossible to successfully package software

Yeah i think the most annoying part was they used batteries - if they had rechargeables built in i wouldn't had mind them

although for the price they are good - how quickly can i break the last ones we've got to be finally rid!

That's a shame, we were using them in a pretty big way for whole class video editing!

Can anyone suggest an appropriate alternative given it looks like the Flip's aren't long for this world?

Cisco scraps the Flip video camera

Cisco has decided to shut down its Flip video division, just 2 years after having purchased Pure Digital Technologies for $590m!

Due to the ever increasing prevalence of smartphones with high quality video camera capabilities, Cisco deemed the division defunct, and as part of this process, 550 employees will likely lose their jobs.

From an education point of view, I think this is a bit of a sad day. The Flip cameras were ideal for use in schools!

Only real replacement would be something like the iPod Touch.

    Someone will buy it.

I think some flip models used a battery pack?

    I like ours tbh.

I know that's what has been posted but I would still expect it to be sold off.

Hmmm, they're a bit expensive at £200 which is pretty much double what the flip camera's cost. Anything similar for around £100?
